For beginners using a desktop hot foil printing machine:
Step 1: Prepare the Machine
Set parameters based on your business card material (coated paper, specialty paper, etc.). For thin coated paper, use 90-110°C with light pressure; for thick specialty paper, 110-130°C with slightly higher pressure. Import your design (logo, name, etc.)—many models support USB transfer for easy setup. Ensure the pattern aligns with the card size.
Step 2: Position and Test
Place the card flat within the alignment guides (use tape or a template if needed). Test with a scrap card of the same material: run the machine, wait 2-3 seconds, then check for completeness and sharp edges. Adjust temperature by ±5-10°C if gaps or smudging occur. Repeat testing until optimal settings are found.
Step 3: Batch Process and Finish
Load cards one by one into the positioning area and run the machine. Handle finished cards gently to avoid scratching the foil. Once done, turn off the machine and let the heating element cool. Wipe the work surface clean with a soft cloth and store the machine in a dry, ventilated space.
No special skills required—follow these steps to create crisp, professional foil-printed business cards easily.
