Card customization is one of those jobs that looks easy until you actually run it.

Customer wants 200 wedding invites. Then next week, 50 Christmas cards with a different design. Then a batch of membership cards with a tiny gold logo.

If you are using traditional foil stamping, every single one of those needs a new plate. That kills the margin before you even start.

That is why a lot of small shops are switching to a digital hot foil printer for card work.

Take the Amydor 360C. No plate. You design on screen, send it over USB, and it prints. The setup time is basically just opening the file.

It runs at 200DPI, which is fine for most card details – text, logos, borders. Nothing blurry. Width goes up to 30cm, so you are not fighting the machine on A4 or odd sizes.
